My Story
I grew up in the mountains and desert of West Texas. What I remember most are hot days, big skies, and a wind that could knock you over. When I met my husband we moved up to Illinois. Although I’ve always considered myself a Texas girl at heart, I have to admit that after so many years up here, the thought of living anywhere else is hard. I love the weather, four seasons, and the snow!
Writing
Growing up I wanted to be many things–a veterinarian, astronaut, nuclear physicist, librarian, teacher. I always thought about becoming a writer, but other than short stories, some poetry, and a couple of half-finished novels, I didn’t get very far. It wasn’t until I attended a writers’ conference hosted by the Chicago-North chapter of Romance Writers of America that I began pursuing writing seriously. I joined RWA and Chicago-North, and it’s thanks to them that I learned about the publishing process, the industry, and the craft of writing. I am a member of RWA, Chicago-North Romance Writers, Regency Fiction Writers, the Alliance of Independent Authors, and Fantasy, Futuristic & Paranormal Romance Writers.
Extras
Besides reading, my favorite activities are knitting, home improvement projects, and binge watching shows and movies. I love cooking with herbs and am constantly trying to improve my gardening skills. One of these days, that dream garden in my head will be realized!
